Safety

Lamoom is for adults 18 and over to get to know each other one-on-one before they meet. This page is the Lamoom safety policy, with the safety tips every member should read before meeting someone in person.

Safety tips

The Lamoom safety policy

Ten points: what is not allowed, what Lamoom checks, and what happens when something goes wrong.

1. What is not allowed

Toward other members, do not: pretend to be someone else or use photos that are not of you; harass, threaten, stalk or bully anyone; do anything that puts another person's safety at risk, on Lamoom or off it; send sexual content or nudity; ask anyone for money, gifts or financial details, or promote a business or scheme; share another person's private information; use Lamoom while under 18 or to contact someone under 18; or use Lamoom for anything illegal.

2. Background screening

Lamoom does not run criminal background screenings, so no conviction is checked and no member is excluded by a screening. Every member promises in the Terms that they have no conviction for a violent or sexual offense and are not on a sex offender registry.

3. Identity and age

Lamoom does not verify identity and checks no documents. Age is checked only by the birthday a member enters at setup: anyone who enters an age under 18 is stopped there, and Lamoom keeps no birthday for them.

4. When an account is suspended or removed

No account is suspended automatically. A person at Lamoom reads every report within 24 hours, and may suspend or delete the reported account when the report shows that the member broke this policy or the Terms.

5. Appeal

A member whose account was suspended or deleted can appeal by writing to kate@lamoom.com from the email on the account. A person reads the appeal and answers.

6. Other members

Lamoom does not notify other members who had contact with a reported member.

7. How to block and report

In a one-on-one chat, open its settings and choose Block: you get no more messages or alerts from that person, and your assistant stops answering them. To report a person or a message, write to kate@lamoom.com.

A good report says who it is about, with their name or a link to the conversation, what happened and when, and a screenshot if you have one. Report only what happened. A false report breaks this policy and the Terms, and the account that makes it can be suspended.

8. Sexual conduct without consent

Any sexual contact or conduct without consent breaks this policy and breaks the law. If it happened to you, you can report it to the police and to Lamoom, and the resources below can help.
